Blog 10: "The Dangers of Reality TV"

The article 'The Dangers of Reality TV" written by Timothy Sexton explains us how reality TV affects all of us including young fans. Sexton argues and states many different reasons that reality TV is bad for all of us. One of the reasons which is the most dangerous message to us is that, education isn't needed to fulfill the American dream. I agree with Sexton that a lack of ability is bad. However, I think that image and ability should walk together because the image give us a power or self-confidence in everyday life.
We all know, that education is a key to a successful life.We all go to school to gain knowledge on any type of subject. We learn everything we need to move on in a life, and to graduate from school in order to obtain ability to practice our dream job. We teach our kids to do same as we did. We send them to school to learn, and to achieve their dreams. I strongly believe, that all of us pass on to children that education is the key to success. The only one more thing that we need to have is a passion for what we want to do or who to become. The reality Tv won't give us an education on any point. We all intelligent people and we should not let to our children watch Tv as much they do and get brainwashed on each day forward.
The second reason which I disagree with the author is that somehow image and ability need to work out with one another. We all, should take care of ours image, how to dress up, walk and speak. Image is not only clothes we put on everyday. In my opinion image is much more than clothes, it's a way we present our self in public life. We all should take  control of our image, and gain skill to present our-self in very well, polite way in outside life. Each of us look and observe each  others to get the first impression, how the opposite person present yourself.
In my conclusion, I would like to state once again that education, and an image is needed in our life. After all, education should come first and be taken seriously with passion to learn more. Image should work out with ability because, it gives us a self-confidence and the strength to drive us forward.

  1. hi my name is Donielle.i really like your essay. There are some things i will like to say is when you writing your essay make sure your readers can see what is your claim or what is your opinion on the topic because while i was reading i was having problems finding your CLAIM for the whole essay. Also i was finding it hard on if you were supporting the author or disagreeing with the author. So once you start writing an essay make sure you know which side you will be supporting and make it clear through out the essay.i saw reasons for your essay but not any evidence to support your reasons. You need evidence to let your reader know that what you saying is a real problem and them know that you know what you are talking about.Over all you did a great job just work on these problems and you will get better and keep practicing your writing .Your writing will come better in time

  3. Hi my name is Kevwe but I go by Danielle. First of, by reading your essay I would think its about how education and image is needed in life. The point of this essay that professor Smith gave you was to summarazie what the author said in your own words(which you did in the first paragraph) and to pick one idea that you agree strongly with. I was confused because at one point in the essay you disagreed with the author. I thought the point of the essay was to pick one idea that you strongly believed in?
Good essay. Just remember, first pick a claim. Which do you most agree with? That reality tv shows how important competition is? Value over image? Or that education is unecessary? Pick just one. Tell us why. Then give us some proof (research, or personal experience)
